Hunting is at its best from late August through late September.
This is a fantastic time to be in the high country. Mild days and
crisp nights are comfortable for hunters and the elk bugling
can be cacophonous.
The exquisite fall
colors will ignite your senses. Either sex elk
archery tags can be purchased over the counter for game units
75 and 751 in which we provide elk drop camps.
Archery mule deer
tags are limited and obtained only by drawing.
Drawing deadline for limited tags is early April. The area we hunt in
Southwest Colorado near Durango has plenty of big bulls and
large antlered mule deer.
